We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented senior accountant to join our growing organization. In this position, you will handle accounting operations among your clients, verify financial records and transactions, and delegate to the bookkeepers and accountants within your team. You must have a keen attention to detail and maintain account balances, financial statements, general ledger, and all reports. This individual will be utilizing hands-on accounting experience and their in-depth understanding of accounting principles and company practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist with nuances involved in month end close for accrual basis clients
• Review workpapers
• Complete and review month end financials for accrual basis clients
• Provide feedback and recommendations for new process and systems
• Assist with audit support
• Intercompany transactions (due to/from accounts)
• Custom reporting
• Bill pay when cash flow is particularly important
• Review GL for errors
• Sales tax filings
• Budget formation
• Delegate work to Accountant / Bookkeeper / PH Team as needed

Qualifications

• Embrace and enjoy working with new technology
• Experience with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop, with a good working understanding of most components within both (QBO Certification and QBD Certification Preferred)
• Willingness to learn additional accounting platforms such as Xero, Sage, Intacct, NetSuite, Great Plains, etc. (Additional certifications preferred)
• Experience with startups, small businesses, and/or non-profits
• Consistently positive attitude
• Experience doing a significant portion of the monthly close (Experience managing full month end close cycle preferred)
• Professional written communication required
• Reliable and detail oriented
• Fast and efficient
• Can manage time and tasks effectively in a work from home, results driven environment
• Knowledge of GAAP
• Experience and comfort with both cash and accrual basis accounting
